This month, something incredible happened: RiseUP Community Advisory Foundation has been nominated for the RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards in the Social Change: Regional Impact category.
It’s not just a milestone for our organization — it’s a moment for every person who’s ever volunteered, showed up to an event, encouraged a friend to join, or shared her story in one of our circles. This nomination belongs to all of us.
“At RiseUP, our proudest achievements are rooted in the momentum we’ve created for women in our rural communities.”
That line was part of our nomination — and it couldn’t be more true. We’ve grown from a small circle of women looking for connection after the pandemic, to a movement that’s supported over 500 women through events, leadership programs, and brave conversations about rebuilding life after transition.
“We've hosted dozens of events and gatherings that have brought women together to rebuild confidence, share leadership, and foster connection. We’ve helped women start businesses, find mentorship, and feel seen.”
This award recognizes organizations that are sparking measurable change — and that’s exactly what we set out to do. We’re proud of our partnerships with SaskCulture and the Nipawin Chamber, our collaborations with Soup Sisters, the Nipawin Legion, the Nipawin Foodbank, and the launch of Ascend Consulting as a rural enterprise to keep our mission sustainable.
“We launched Ascend Consulting as an extension of RiseUP — offering affordable business coaching, leadership development, and strategic consulting for emerging entrepreneurs.”
Being nominated doesn’t mean we’ve reached the finish line. It means others are starting to see the impact you’ve helped us create — and we’re just getting started.
This is your win too.
So whether you’ve spoken at an event, prepared soup at The Big Stir, donated your time to help plan an event, shared a Facebook post, or whispered to a friend “you should come with me to this thing” — thank you.
You are part of this nomination. You are part of the movement. Let’s keep going.
With gratitude, Laura
