What is RiSEUP at Nipawin?

Updated: Apr 14, 2023

You’ve probably heard the buzz about RiSEUP Community Advisory Foundation. We would like to take this opportunity to share a bit about who we are, what we’re doing, and how you can support women in the community.

Who are we? The RiSEUP Community Advisory Foundation is a registered not-for-profit organization in good standing that empowers women in rural northeast Saskatchewan to rise up and achieve balance in work and life through community connections.

RiSEUP is board-governed and currently consists of women from different backgrounds who are local to the Nipawin area. We are funded through grants, sponsorships, donations, and HR On-Call services. Our aim is to create safe spaces for cultural exchange and learning, for women to find common ground, and build community connections regardless of her status or position.

Some of the issues we bring awareness to are gossip and judgment that create stigma, racism, and stereotypes in the community which often result in unintentional exclusion on the playground, at the office, and at home.

What are we doing? The RiSEUP mission is anchored to research by the Creative Center for Leadership that "the larger culture in which a woman operates will have a direct effect on her ability to succeed. Fostering a sense of belonging in the larger community needs to be a key priority for women to thrive."

We are inviting employers to join our mission by enabling women to participate in community events, workshop series, and to increase their community presence. The RiSEUP events are FREE, sponsored by RiSEUP. Your support will help ensure all Women have access to "great food, equitable opportunities, a sense of belonging, and topics that are proven to help women thrive" no matter her status or position.

Local sponsorship, charitable grants, and HR On Call are the funding backbone to the Foundation. All HR On Call fees go directly to the charity and are eligible for a charitable tax receipt. Visit www.riseupadvisory.com for more information.

How can you support the women in our community?

The RiSEUP Community Advisory Committee is passionate about creating positive change in ourselves, our communities, and our world, and would appreciate YOUR support as we endeavour to RiSEUP the women in our community.

Support comes in many different forms:

Thank you for your time and we look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Laura Nycholat,

On behalf of the RiSEUP Board of Directors
